After being passed some work from the wonderful people at Hoot Marketing I met with the client who had some great ideas about their project and what they wanted. They own a beautiful VW Combi (named Sunny), which is available to rent for weddings, day trips, weekends away and holidays.

Amanda also makes unique jewellery under the name of Bijou Junkie – taking unused jewellery and turning it into something modern. With fantastic mood boards from Amanda and a collaborative effort with Hoot Marketing, we quickly decided upon a name, logo and website structure.

Amanda always comes armed with wonderful mood boards, clear style, fashion eras and bags of enthusiasm. This makes designing a lot of fun and also fairly easy. As Sunny comes from California, the theme of the branding and website needed to be self-explanatory, iconic and 60s beach themed. Think – The Beach Boys “are all going on a, summer holiday!” and you’re practically there.

After a wonderful photo shoot down at Witterings beach with an array of great on-brand props, Amanda came back to me with a variety of images that were ideally suited to the vision she was sharing so clearly. Not only that but she’d made a video and had some well written content. Together we then carefully went about designing the website and getting the look and feel just right. We used the wonderful images as often as possible to give people a real sense of what Sunny was like, the collage allowed us to give people ideas of where they could take Sunny and the textures and image in the banner pay homage to her origins.

The postcard testimonials were a great idea and allowed us to keep the holiday theme running neatly throughout and really brought people’s experiences to life.

Next we moved onto the business cards, postcard flyers, twitter and facebook accounts and the work was complete.

A very happy camper, a very happy client and a very happy designer. This job was a joy thanks to all involved who had great vision, enthusiasm and willingness to listen to each others ideas. Open ears are the best tools for good design!
